Categories of Membership

Our membership is in categories.

  1. Professional Membership: Professional membership is in two categories
    • Regular Membership
    • Corresponding Membership.
  1. Student Membership: Student membership is in two categories
    • Regular Membership
    • Corresponding Membership.
  1. Honorary Membership: Membership is bestowed on distinguished individuals based on meritorious contributions to addressing core issues in sustainable agrifood production and processing in sub-Saharan Africa. This can also be bestowed on retired members – ANGASABE alone.

  1. Group/Institutional Membership. Pays one single sum yearly dues to cover all members from the institution. This group is in two categories Regular and Corresponding membership. Payment is scheduled thus:
    • $300 annually for up to 15 members from an institution, beyond which the group fee increases to $500 for unlimited members from such institution.

  1. Lifetime Membership: Pays once one lump sum – ANGASABE dues alone. This is detailed as follows: $500 (equivalent to 20-year membership dues collected upfront – if we endow, it will be more than double its value in 20 years). A certificate of membership will be issued.

Cost of Membership

  1. Professional Member, Regular: $25
  2. Professional Member, Corresponding: $10 (Opens only to members outside of the US, EU, Australia and New Zealand)
  3. Student Member, Regular: $10
  4. Student Member, Corresponding: $0 (Advisor must be a member in legal standing)
  5. Lifetime Member: $500 (One-time fee)
  6. Group Member: $300/yr for up to 15 memberships; and $500 for unlimited membership

Definitions of Terms

  • Regular: Members with both ASABE and ANGASABE. Dues
  • Corresponding – Professional: only ANGASABE membership. Open to prospective members living outside of North America
  • Corresponding – student membership is based on the student’s advisor being a financial member of ANGASABE

Note

  • Students who have ASABE membership and corresponding membership of ANGASABE will be classified as regular member of ANGASABE.
  • Except for honorary members, all class of membership will have equal right within ANGASABE and will termed as being in good standing.
